L.E.D. Lab provides a comprehensive solution for driving your LED display with ease and efficiency. Say goodbye to custom programming as this tool streamlines the setup process and is suitable for a wide range of users, from artists and professional display designers to architects, VJs, lighting designers, and hobbyists looking to infuse animated color into various aspects of their work or living spaces.
L.E.D. Lab offers a feature where you can create multiple Scenes that can be sequenced or played in a randomized order. Currently, there are two types of Scenes available:
- Pictures Scene: This allows for the creation of a montage using still images, videos, and live camera feeds. Users can animate the position, velocity, rotation, size, and coloring of each element. Additionally, it supports the use of personal photos, videos, and even the iPad camera. Complex displays with irregular shapes are made feasible through photographically generated map files.
- Strips Scene: Involves sending color particles down each strip with animation options for velocity, hue, saturation, and brightness on each particle.
Key features include:
- Music integration for creating playlists of Tracks that can be synchronized with Scenes.
- Audio Reactivity allowing control over parameters based on audio input in specified frequency ranges.
- External control options via MIDI, DMX, ArtNet, or OSC for dynamic adjustments.
- Color Keying to make specific elements transparent for seamless blending.
- Tiling capabilities for repeating images or videos in various directions with customizable spacing and fade-outs.
- Diverse Display Modes allowing for editing with or without LED connection and a hidden UI option for operation in "kiosk" mode.
Examples of LED displays created using L.E.D. Lab can be found at ledlabs.co.
Any iOS device can be utilized to play Scene Lists; however, editing is most efficient on an iPad.
L.E.D. Lab is compatible with several LED controllers such as PixelPusher (recommended), Art-Net, sACN, DDP/Minleon/TekLights, RGB-123, FadeCandy/FCServer, OpenPixel, and also supports external monitor or projector connections for VJ applications.
The software offers an extensive help system including a Help Explorer feature for on-the-spot assistance with interface elements like knobs and sliders and detailed Help Topics and Tutorials for in-depth understanding of its functionalities.
